The Best Places to Celebrate Oktoberfest in the US

Sure, Munich, Germany is where everyone wants to be for a stein of beer come end of September, but it’s not always feasible. Try heading to one of these national Oktoberfest festivals instead for just as good of a time!

Oktoberfest

Frankenmuth, MI – September 20-23

This town known as Michigan’s “Little Bavaria” is hosting their 29th annual Oktoberfest that is sure to be one for the ages. There will be Hofbräuhaus München beer, authentic German food, Polka dancing, and wiener dog races throughout the long weekend.

Cincinnati, OH – September 21-23

A lot is packed into this weekend in downtown Cincinnati each year. A beer barrel roll, an ample amount of beer tents to hop around to, and over 30 food vendors at your disposal, the Fountain Square district is where to be.

La Crosse, WI – September 27-30

One of the largest Oktoberfest’s in the nation is held in La Crosse, Wisconsin across four days. There are two locations with different types of entertainment and various food vendors and of course, plenty of biergartens. Don your lederhosen or your dirndl and head to La Crosse for a true Oktoberfest experience.

Fredericksburg, TX – October 5-7

Take a trip to downtown Fredericksburg with some of the best German family fun the nation has to offer this time of year. The entertainment is aplenty: an orchestra, Polka bands, and dance groups galore.

Tulsa, OK – October 18-21

Celebrate Bavarian heritage in Tulsa this year by way of bratwurst, hot pretzels, strudel, and more. Don’t forget to complement the classic German grub with a stein or two of traditional bier (or by attending a tasting of over 50 mini steins.)
