Seller Tip: How to WOW Potential Buyers

First impressions are hard to break and most buyers will only spend about 15 minutes touring your house before looking at other houses with similar features listed at similar prices.

Since we’ve only got one shot at making a first impression- let’s talk about how wow potential buyers by “dressing” your house for sale!

As I’m sure you’ve heard before- it’s time to de-clutter!  We want potential buyers to envision their lives in the house- not yours.

Before your realtor snaps those photos of your home for marketing, take a walk through and spruce up.  Remove knickknacks and unnecessary furniture to make your spaces feel larger; even consider a fresh coat of neutral pain to give the house a little face-lift.

Your kitchen should be spotlessly clean for marketing and excess appliances from your kitchen should be removed.  Make sure to put away those family Christmas photos from the refrigerator door as well.

All this talk of de-cluttering makes one think “no big deal, I’ll just stuff that in the closet!”  Please don’t.

Closets, basements and garages are important spaces in the house because it shows potential buyers additional storage space.  Everyone loves storage space!

You’ll want to keep these areas clean and organized so that folks can envision their own uses for these spaces. Consider this a great time to start packing seasonal items for your upcoming move.

“Dressing” your house for sale before it is marketed is a fabulous way to show buyers a blank canvas to fill in with their own ideas, hopefully allowing a quick sale at the highest dollar amount possible.

When you’re ready to get started, ask your sales associate for additional tips on preparing your home for sale.  This is who we are, this is what we do and this has been another two minute tip from CENTURY 21.
